The two-hour documentary explores nearly 200 years of deaf life in America as it examines family life, education, work and community connections from the perspective of deaf citizens.Narrated by actress Stockard Channing, Through Deaf Eyes includes interviews with former Gallaudet University president Dr. I. King Jordan,actors Marlee Matlin and Bernard Bragg, as well as historians and deafAmericans with diverse views on language use, technology and identity. It also presents six artistic works by deaf media artists and filmmakers. The program traces the evolution of deaf education and explores the complicated role of technology in the lives of deaf people.

Through Deaf Eyesis a co-production of WETA/Washington and Florentine Films/Hott Productions in association with Galluadet University.

"WRONG GAME" takes place in a mansion filled with mysterious history. A group of people is called to the Wrong Game takes place in a mansion filled with mysterious history. A group of people is called to the mansion to participate in a game where the winner receives $1 million. When the participants gather at the mansion, they learn the hard truth that the game is no original. Losing the game is not an option. To add further drama, each participant holds highly specialized skills and collectively, they must determine whose skills or expertise is most beneficial to the game. What the participants do not know is that the mastermind of this game is among them as a participant, judging each of them silently and strategically. With more unexpected twists and turns than any other movie, this film will keep participants guessing until the very end.

SERRC Classes

Starting December 13, 2007, Southwestern Ohio Special Education Regional Resource
Center (State Support Team 13), in collaboration with regional trainers, will offer interactive,
hands-on, sessions related to Special Education System topics. Family members may attend
any or all sessions. A $20 gift card, to help defray expenses, will be provided to parents and
family members at each session (one gift card per family).


Sessions will be held at SERRC, from 6:00 – 8:30 PM, the 2nd Thursday each month,
December through May. The sessions will cover basic information about topics related to the
needs of learners with disabilities, including an intervention/prevention model for learners who
are not successful in school, academically or behaviorally.


Those who attend all six sessions, in the Series, will receive a certificate and will be invited to
attend a more advanced training at a Spring Leadership Institute the end of May, 2008.

Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council 2008 Meetings

The ODDC meets ten times per year, usually the first Thursday and Friday of the month. The Council brings disability issues and accomplishments to the attention of Ohioans and welcomes and encourages visitors to attend the meetings.
